L. Chris Stewart serves as the Managing Partner of Stewart Miller Simmons Trial Attorneys, specializing in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. Stewart focuses on complex and high-profile cases, including mass tort, class action, wrongful death, civil rights, and premises liability. Recognized as one of the best trial attorneys in the nation, he has achieved multiple record-breaking jury verdicts, notably securing the first-ever billion-dollar jury verdict in U.S. history for a single sexual assault victim, one of North Carolina's highest premises liability jury verdicts and multiple record verdicts in Georgia. His successes also include securing hundreds of millions of dollars for clients in various States, including 7 State records for settlement amounts.
Chris has served as the lead attorney for some of the nation's most well-known tragedies including victims of the Baltimore Key Bridge Disaster, the Boeing 737 crash, and serves on the Plaintiffs Steering Committee in a national mass tort lawsuit and is one of the few African Americans ever selected as co-lead counsel on a major class action. Chris also co-led a legal team securing a total of $122 million to settle alleged False Claims Act violations against a major corporation.
